We present a case of embolic ablation of a kidney with recurrent infected hydronephrosis in a patient for whom surgical resection was considered undesirable. The hydronephrosis recurred after embolization using gelfoam/steel coils but after a second embolization using lipiodol/absolute alcohol (50/50), the patient has remained asymptomatic.
