The micromechanics of fiber pull-out
Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 1996Abstract Results of experimental and modeling studies on the micromechanics of fiber pull-out are reported. For the experiment an optical glass fiber coated with a layer of acrylate or gold-palladium alloy is embedded in an epoxy matrix and then pulled out at various speeds. The fiber has a diameter of 125 or 200 μm.

Pull-out of axisymmetric headed anchors
Materials and Structures, 1996A simple, albeit approximate, derivation of the pull-out force of axisymmetric headed anchors is given by studying the growth of a penny crack in half space loaded only on its upper face. The initial diameter of the penny crack is equal to the head diameter. The formula so obtained does not contain any unknown constants.
