Bearing force mobilisation in pull-out tests on geogrids
Geotextiles and Geomembranes, 2004Abstract This paper presents a study on the mobilisation of bearing forces in geogrids subjected to pull-out solicitation. A theoretical model incorporating the effects of interference between grid bearing members on grid pull-out behaviour is presented and used for the interpretation of the results of large-scale pull-out tests on grids with varying

Single-Incision Mini-Slings: Obturator Complex Pull-Out-Force Measurements
Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation, 2016Aim: To evaluate the different pull-out-force out of the obturator membrane and the obturator internus muscle of 2 mini-sling systems for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) treatment. Material and Methods: In a prospective study, the pull-out-force measurements were performed on

Modeling of grain pull-out forces in polycrystalline alumina
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2000A first generation, two-dimensional finite element (FE) model of grain pull-out in an alumina post fracture tension (PFT) specimen was constructed using the photomicrographs of the specimen surface. Frictional resistance to grain pull-out was generated by the intergranular compressive stresses due to randomly distributed, anisotropic thermal ...

Pull-Out Force of Bean Plants Grown in Agar With Fluidic Microchannels
Volume 3: Advanced Materials: Design, Processing, Characterization, and Applications, 2021Abstract Agar have long been used as a growth media in biology and medicine. This contribution reports on the results of pull out force of bean plants grown in agar with nutrients-filled microchannels. A jig was developed for pull-out of individual plants grown in agar with nutrients-filled microchannels.

The effect of matrix stresses on fibre pull-out forces
Journal of Materials Science, 1977A pull-out test was developed to measure the bond strengths and frictional forces between steel wires, and polycarbonate and epoxy matrices when the matrix was under tensile stress. Some debonding occurred due to the matrix stress. Despite this, the nominal bond strength, in the polycarbonate case, increased with increasing matrix applied stress.

Hygrothermal Effects on Initial Frictional Pull-Out Force of CNTs-Reinforced Composites
Journal of Thermal Stresses, 2006ABSTRACT Based on the strong bonding between carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and the polymer matrix, the influence of hygrothermal environments on the initial pull-out force applied on the CNTs in CNTs-reinforced composite systems in investigated by means of thermoelasticity and conventional fiber pull-out models.
