Prevalence of Hypertension in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Attending Respiratory Medicine OPD

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medical Science and Clinical Invention, 2017
Hypertension is a common complication of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD); its prevalence is currently unknown. The objectives of the study were to provide data on the prevalence of hypertension among the COPD patients. Systemic hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) frequently coexist in the same patient, especially ...

NSP7 Molecular Degrader Attenuates Coronaviral Infection Through the β‐TrCP1/FBXO5 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Host E3 ligase FBXO5 as a key regulator that promotes K48‐linked ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of SARS‐CoV‐2 NSP7, thereby suppressing viral replication. NSP7 ubiquitination is co‐regulated by β‐TrCP1 and TAF1. Small molecule BC24877 disrupts β‐TrCP1‐mediated degradation of FBXO5, stabilizing FBXO5 and enhancing NSP7 clearance ...

NDRG1‐Driven Lactate Accumulation Promotes Lung Adenocarcinoma Progression Through the Induction of an Immunosuppressive Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NDRG1 drives lactate accumulation and histone lactylation in lung adenocarcinoma, promoting immunosuppression via M2 macrophage polarization and CD8⁺ T cell inhibition. High NDRG1 expression correlates with poor prognosis, an immunosuppressive microenvironment, and immunotherapy resistance.

Systematic Review of Physiotherapy during Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In COPD patients, acute exacerbations are important events. Reviews of studies investigating treatment during AECOPD focus on medical management, with little discussion of physiotherapy.

Piezo1 Activation Improves NSCLC Liver Metastasis Immunotherapy by Overriding Matrix Stiffness‐Mediated Bimodal PD‐L1/CXCL10 Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Piezo1 activation enhances FAK‐YAP‐mediated upregulation of PD‐L1 and CXCL10, thereby promoting an immunotherapy‐responsive tumor microenvironment in NSCLC. Cyclic stretch modulates the PD‐L1/CXCL10 response to ECM stiffness, reshaping their expression dynamics.

STAT6 Activation Exacerbates Ferroptosis in Airway Epithelium by Inhibiting PRKN‐Mediated Mitophagy in Pulmonary Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers STAT6‐driven pulmonary fibrosis (PF) via suppression of PRKN‐mediated airway epithelial mitophagy, triggering mitochondrial dysfunction and ferroptosis. Rifabutin is identified as a potent STAT6 inhibitor that effectively reverses fibrotic progression. These findings reveal the STAT6‐PRKN axis as a pathogenic regulator and provide a

Clinical and radiological features associated with rupture of pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm: a retrospective study

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine
Background Hemoptysis resulting from rupture of the pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm (PAP) is massive and fatal, while factor contributing to the rupture of pseudoaneurysm remains elusive.

Gompertz Law‐Based Biological Age (GOLD BioAge): A Simple and Practical Measurement of Biological Ageing to Capture Morbidity and Mortality Risks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Gompertz law‐based biological age metric (GOLD BioAge) introduces interpretable convenient and interpretable calculations to capture mortality, disease, and frailty risks. Its applications to proteomics and metabolomics (ProtAge and MetAge) demonstrate clinical potential to enhance aging evaluation and prevent age‐related diseases.
