Kdm4a downregulation restrains excessive cardiac interstitial fibrosis and remodeling by depressing the premature senescence of fibroblasts in the advanced stage after MI but does not affect early ventricular rupture. It verified that Kdm4a downregulation promotes autophagy in premature senescent fibroblasts by increasing the H3K9m3 modification of the

Diagnosis of Acute Pulmonary Embolism on a Non-contrast CT Scan
Teaching Point: There are two important signs that could be seen on a non-contrast chest CT scan that can lead to the diagnosis of a pulmonary embolism: the hyperdense pulmonary artery sign and pulmonary infarction.

Occlusion of tumor blood vessels represents a promising yet challenging approach in cancer treatment. Herein, supramolecularly engineered platelets conjugated with morphology‐transformable nanoparticles is developed for precise tumor embolization. The engineered platelets actively accumulate at tumor sites following induced blood vessel injury.

All patients operated for oesophageal cancer in Sweden from 2013 to April 2018 were identified, and 246 patients were recruited to this population‐based nationwide Swedish study. The results show that longitudinal health‐related quality of life after minimally invasive oesophagectomy was similar to that of the open surgical approach.

The rim sign: FDG-PET/CT pattern of pulmonary infarction
ObjectiveWe aimed to describe a pattern of rim uptake observed in lung infarction on FDG-PET/CT, called the “rim sign.” It was defined as a continuous slight FDG uptake along the border of a subpleural consolidation without uptake within the ...

During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

Computerized Tomography Pulmonary Angiography Image Simulation using Cycle Generative Adversarial Network from Chest CT imaging in Pulmonary Embolism Patients [PDF]
The purpose of this research is to develop a system that generates simulated computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) images clinically for pulmonary embolism diagnoses. Nowadays, CTPA images are the gold standard computerized detection method to determine and identify the symptoms of pulmonary embolism (PE), although performing CTPA is harmful
