Detection and Inhalation Hazard Assessment of Wear Particles Arising From Abrasion of Market‐relevant Graphene Reinforced Composites

Abrasion of few‐layer graphene (FLG)–epoxy composites generated respirable particles in which FLG remained fully embedded, as confirmed by correlative HR‑TEM, Raman, and ToF‑SIMS analyses. Advanced lung cell models revealed no cytotoxic or inflammatory responses, and only high‑dose epoxy particles reduced mucociliary clearance.

Phase 3, randomised, placebo‐controlled trial of voxelotor for the resolution of leg ulcers in sickle cell disease: RESOLVE

In this trial, conducted in Kenya, Nigeria and Brazil, the resolution of leg ulcers was similar between the voxelotor and placebo arms. In the 12‐week blinded period, the number of sickle cell anaemia with crisis events was higher in the voxelotor arm compared to placebo.

Non‐canonical PKG1 regulation in cardiovascular health and disease

It is well established that the cyclic GMP‐dependent protein kinase I (PKG1) is canonically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enabling its regulation of vascular tone, cardiac function and smooth muscle homeostasis. However, diverse non‐canonical stimuli of PKG1 have also been identified.

Pulmonary sequestration is a congenital anomaly of the lungs. We present the case of a patient whose initial symptom was mild dysphagia. Esophagoscopy showed the presence of a submucosal tumor in the lower-third section of the esophagus.
