ABSTRACT Human atrial chambers derive from distinct embryonic anlagens, the original embryonic atria gradually transforming into the so‐called auricles, or atrial appendages. This study quantifies macroscopic variations in pectinate muscle architecture in human atrial appendages and evaluates their visualization using clinical imaging modalities.

Persistence Pulmonal Hypertension After Balloon Mitral Valvuiloplasty
Background.Pulmonary hypertension frequently complicates mitral stenosis. Increased pulmonary artery pressure results from raised left atrial pressure, pulmonary arteriolar vasoconstriction, and obliterative changes in the pulmonary vascular bed, and ...

ABSTRACT Neonates with infracardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) frequently require urgent treatment. If surgical repair is contraindicated due to extreme prematurity, interventional stenting of the ductus venosus (DV) has been introduced successfully to postpone surgery.

Mitral bones in mitral stenosis: A rare presentation
Pulmonary ossification is described as mature bone formation with or without marrow elements in alveolar or interstitial spaces. Pulmonary ossification is a rare late sequelae that is virtually pathognomonic of mitral stenosis. Mitral bone is nothing but

Initial experience with Edwards SAPIEN valve transcatheter implantation in native RVOT in Latvia
Transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation has been a well-known method for more than a decade, but there are still many challenging cases when a personalized solution is needed.

ABSTRACT Background Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) anatomy remains challenging due to anatomical complexity and limited trial data. New‐generation balloon‐expandable valves, such as Myval, require further evaluation in this subgroup.

Percutaneous transluminal balloon valvuloplasty for pulmonary valve stenosis.
Transluminal balloon valvuloplasty was used to treat congenital pulmonary valve stenosis in 20 patients. Follow-up cardiac catheterization was performed in 11 patients at intervals of from 2 to 12 months after the procedure.
