Bigeminal Pulmonary Vein Ectopy Suppressed by Pulmonary Vein Isolation

open access: yesInternational Heart Journal, 2008
A 58-year-old man with atrial fibrillation underwent pulmonary vein (PV) isolation (PVI). Bigeminal atrial premature beats persisted from the beginning of the PVI. The cardiac recordings from a basket catheter (BC) revealed the PV ectopic origin in the distal right superior PV.

Selective pulmonary artery occlusion to treat hemoptysis associated with pulmonary venous obstruction

open access: yesRespiratory Medicine Case Reports, 2017
Hemoptysis may occur in patients with pulmonary venous obstruction and prominent decompressing vessels in the airways adjacent to the affected pulmonary veins.

Using the autologous innominate vein as a substitute for pulmonary arteries in a patient with pulmonary atresia and absent pulmonary arteries

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2021
Background Repair of the absence of the whole or major parts of pulmonary arteries is a challenge, and the choice of conduit material to reconstruct the pulmonary arteries is under dispute.

Meandering pulmonary veins [PDF]

open access: yesMedicine, 2020
Abstract Rationale: Meandering pulmonary vein is a rare congenital pulmonary vascular anomaly. It presents unilateral single pulmonary vein that takes a circuitous route in the lung and drains normally into the left atrium. Most cases of meandering pulmonary vein have been reported to be right-sided.

Sutureless technique using the left atrial appendage for left pulmonary vein occlusion after catheter ablation

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2020
Background Pulmonary vein stenosis or occlusion is a rare but one of the most devastating complications after catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias, and surgical repair is an option in severe cases.

Unilateral pulmonary vein atresia: Literature overview and case report

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2022
The unilateral absence of the pulmonary vein, known as pulmonary vein atresia, is a rare type of unilateral pulmonary venous hypoplasia caused by the congenital atrophy of the long pulmonary vein segments in one lung.

Mal-Positioning of Dialysis Catheter in Anomalous Left Superior Pulmonary Vein in a Patient with Acute Type A Dissection, a Case Report

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery
The partial anomalous pulmonary vein drainage is a rare congenital defect. The pulmonary vein drains in to a systemic vein instead of draining in to the left atrium.

Permissive role of reduced inwardly-rectifying potassium current density in the automaticity of the guinea pig pulmonary vein myocardium

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2017
The electrophysiological properties underlying the automaticity of the guinea pig pulmonary vein myocardium were studied. About 30% of the isolated pulmonary vein tissue preparations showed spontaneous electrical activity, as shown by glass ...

Pulmonary Vein Occlusion and Lung Infarction after Radiofrequency Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesCase Reports in Pulmonology, 2020
Background. Pulmonary vein (PV) radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is an effective technique for a selected group of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) refractory to antiarrhythmic drugs (Alfudhili et al., 2017).
