Neural Network Reconstruction of the Left Atrium using Sparse Catheter Paths [PDF]
Catheter based radiofrequency ablation for pulmonary vein isolation has become the first line of treatment for atrial fibrillation in recent years. This requires a rather accurate map of the left atrial sub-endocardial surface including the ostia of the pulmonary veins, which requires dense sampling of the surface and takes more than 10 minutes.

Spontaneous and induced pulmonary vein tachycardia after pulmonary vein isolation [PDF]
A case is reported of recurrence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation after pulmonary vein ablation. A second procedure achieved isolation of three pulmonary veins and showed persistence of pulmonary vein tachycardia in one with implications concerning the electrophysiology of atrial fibrillation.

Radiology of Anomalies of Pulmonary Veins
AbstractA study of 43 cases of suspected congenital diseases of heart was performed in Sahyadri Hospital, Pune, over a period of 5 to 6 years with dual source computed tomography (CT) in adolescents as well as children. Only the images of anomalies of pulmonary veins are presented.Compared with different radiological techniques, CT offers many ...

We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Pulmonary vein stenosis is a potential complication after radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation. We present an unusual case of this complication that progressed to vein occlusion and required lobectomy and review the literature.

More Knowledge is Better: Cross-Modality Volume Completion and 3D+2D Segmentation for Intracardiac Echocardiography Contouring [PDF]
Using catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation increasingly relies on intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) for an anatomical delineation of the left atrium and the pulmonary veins that enter the atrium. However, it is a challenge to build an automatic contouring algorithm because ICE is noisy and provides only a limited 2D view of the 3D anatomy ...

The potential role of scar mapping in assessing of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation recurrence after cryoballoon application [PDF]
Cryoballoon ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) has become a frequently used therapy after failure of at least one antiarrhythmic drug. The main target of AF ablation has been durable pulmonary vein isolation.

The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...
