Transformable Tumor Microenvironment‐Responsive Oxygen Vacancy‐Rich MnO2@Hydroxyapatite Nanospheres for Highly Efficient Cancer Sonodynamic Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
Transformable tumor microenvironment‐responsive oxygen vacancy‐rich MnO2@hydroxyapatite core–shell nanospheres are designed as a robust sonosensitizer for sonodynamic immunotherapy, which can effectively reverse the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, resulting in a satisfactory antitumor efficacy.

Dynamics of cardiac re-entry in micro-CT and serial histological sections based models of mammalian hearts [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Cardiac re-entry regime of self-organised abnormal synchronisation underlie dangerous arrhythmias and fatal fibrillation. Recent advances in the theory of dissipative vortices, experimental studies, and anatomically realistic computer simulations, elucidated the role of cardiac re-entry interaction with fine anatomical features in the heart, and ...

Disturbing Cholesterol/Sphingolipid Metabolism by Squalene Epoxidase Arises Crizotinib Hepatotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 14, April 10, 2025.
Crizotinib induces excessive accumulation of squalene epoxidase (SQLE) by blocking its autophagic degradation. This accumulation disrupts cholesterol and sphingolipid metabolism, leading to hepatic steatosis or hepatocyte apoptosis, respectively. Autophagy activators, such as metformin, or SQLE enzymatic inhibitors, like terbinafine, possesses the ...

CardiacNET: Segmentation of Left Atrium and Proximal Pulmonary Veins from MRI Using Multi-View CNN [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Anatomical and biophysical modeling of left atrium (LA) and proximal pulmonary veins (PPVs) is important for clinical management of several cardiac diseases. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows qualitative assessment of LA and PPVs through visualization.
