Pulmonary vein isolation in a patient with dextrocardia
EP Europace, 2012A 61-year-old lady with known dextrocardia and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) was referred for ablation. Computed tomography (CT) of the thorax (frontal plan as shown in Figure 1 …

An unusual complication of a pulmonary vein isolation
Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology, 2009A 59 year old patient with drug refractory paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) was referred for a pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). He complained of severe chest pain during the procedure. Subtle ST segment elevation was noted in the high lateral territory (I & aVL). He had no risk factors for coronary artery disease.

AIMS Pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) is effective but hampered by pulmonary vein reconnection due to insufficient ablation lesions.

Several studies have shown the serum high sensitive cardiac troponin I (hs‐TnI) a biomarker of myocardium injury, and C‐reactive protein (CRP), a biomarker of inflammation, are associated with worse cardiovascular outcomes.

Balloon Catheters for Pulmonary Vein Isolation
Herz Kardiovaskuläre Erkrankungen, 2008The mainstay of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) is pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). The shortcomings of a point-by-point ablation approach using radiofrequency current steadily kindle the interest in new energy sources and catheter designs.

Radiofrequency high‐power ablation appears to be a novel concept for atrial fibrillation (AF). The ablation index (AI) value has been associated with durability of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI).

Common pulmonary vein on the recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmia after pulmonary vein isolation
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2019AbstractAimsCatheter ablation has become an effective treatment modality for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the relationship between common pulmonary vein (PV) and recurrent atrial tachyarrhythmia (ATA) after PV isolation (PVI) remains controversial.

Different strategies for performing pulmonary vein isolation in patients with pulmonary vein rhythm
Heart and Vessels, 2011Pulmonary vein (PV) isolation was performed in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients whose cardiac rhythm was dominated by the ectopic beats originating from the PV. We herein report two cases with dominant PV ectopic rhythm that underwent catheter ablation for the treatment of paroxysmal AF.
