A Study of the Effects of Ionic Charge and Molecular Weight of Polymers on Wet-Web Strength [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Improved machine speeds in the production of paper have increased the number of wet-end breaks due to wet-webs that are unable to withstand the increased stresses at increased rates of production.

Modulation of Electronic Structure in Kraft Lignin‐Derived Mo Single‐Atom Catalysts for Optimized Electrochemical Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biomass‐derived lignin is used as a sustainable precursor to synthesize Mo single atoms anchored on a nitrogen‐coordinated carbon framework. As the Mo structure transitions from MoC clusters to isolated single‐atom sites, oxygen evolution reaction (ORR) activity progressively improves.

Data‐Driven Design and Fabrication of Heat‐Resistant, Ultrastrong, Lightweight Aluminum‐Based Entropy Alloy by Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A data‐driven strategy integrating quantum machine learning (QML) and high‐throughput computing overcomes hot‐cracking limitation to design a novel lightweight aluminum‐based entropy alloy for additive manufacturing. The fabrication transforms brittle intermetallics into deformable hierarchical nanostructures, yielding ultrastrong strength (>1 GPa) and

Tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.) Components as a Sustainable Replacement for Pork Meat in Frankfurter Sausages

open access: yesFoods
Five types of frankfurters were formulated: a control without tamarind (T0) and four samples using 5% tamarind pulp paste (PT5), seeds (ST5), peel (CT5), and a blend of all of them (PSCT5), replacing the same portion of meat.

Investigating dental structure response to air abrasion: a finite element analysis

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Air abrasion particles, propelled by a compressed air stream, remove material from the tooth’s surface. The air abrasion parameter plays an important role in removing the strains or plaque from the teeth.

Preliminary Investigation on Bamboo Pulping [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
A preliminary investigation on bamboo pulping by Semi-Keebra process reveals that a higher pulp yield than that obtained by most of the known methods of pulping bamboo can be attained by Semi-Keebra process.* The chemical requirement for pulping is lower
