Valorization of Garcinia humilis Residues in Active Collagen/Starch Films for Biodegradable Packaging Applications

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
Residues from Garcinia humilis were used to obtain a phenolic‐rich extract (GHRE) and incorporated into collagen–starch films. The addition of GHRE improved antioxidant activity, thermal stability and elasticity, while reducing water vapour permeability.

Impact of Packaging and Recycling Systems on Material Recirculation: A Stage‐Decomposition Model

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
A system‐level view emerges from decomposing recycling into four stages (participation, collection, sorting and process yield), diagnosing constraints and targeting interventions. Cumulative equivalent uses (CEUs) quantify long‐term retention, revealing marginal improvements at high baselines generate disproportionately larger gains than low‐baseline ...

Harnessing energy metabolism for enhanced bone defect repair: Mechanisms and therapeutic strategies

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This review addresses the critical challenge of bone defect repair by focusing on the underexplored role of cellular energy metabolism. It synthesizes regulatory mechanisms in bone‐forming cells and sums up innovative strategies—leveraging cell derivatives, active factors, and biomimetic scaffolds—to modulate metabolism for enhanced regeneration.

Understanding the roll-on-pilfer-proof process [PDF]

open access: yes
There is a requirement (within the food packaging industry) for a greater analytical knowledge and more scientific understanding of the ROPP capping process and of the interaction of caps (closures) with the threaded part of the glass container (finish).

Surface Micro‐Discharge Plasma for Multiple Teeth Bleaching: Efficacy, Mechanism and Safety

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the commonly‐used bleaching chemical in clinical practice, but its excessive concentrations can cause tooth damage. Atmospheric pressure cold plasma is considered a promising new technique for tooth bleaching. Surface micro‐discharge (SMD) devices can generate large‐scale plasma, which holds potential for treating ...

Managing Capabilities for Achieving Net Zero via a Circular Economy: A Multilevel Framework

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Corporate management faces increasing pressure to achieve both net‐zero and circular economy (CE) goals. As organizations rarely manage this alone, they must develop novel capabilities within themselves and across their value chains and ecosystems. To explore capability development for achieveing net zero via circularity, we adopt a multilevel
