Organosolv pulping — methods and pulp properties
Biomass, 1987Abstract Potential benefits of using organic solvents for the delignification of lignocellulosic materials are discussed. Main characteristics of organosolv pulping methods published in the literature are presented and softwood pulp yields and strengths are compared with corresponding values of Kraft and sulphite pulps. Yields of organosolv softwood

Influence of dimethyl formamide pulping of bagasse on pulp properties
Bioresource Technology, 2006Organosolv pulping of bagasse was conducted following a central composite design using a two-level factorial plan involving three pulping variables (temperature: 190-210 degrees C, time: 120-180 min, organic solvent charge: 40-60% dimethyl formamide). Responses of pulp properties (yield and holocellulose, alpha-cellulose, kappa number, ash and ethanol ...

The Optical Properties of Deinked Pulp
Journal of Imaging Science and Technology, 2005Optical properties of handsheets made from pulp resulting from deinking flotation of multicolored and desaturated prints from digital and conventional offset printing have been observed. The prints were made on different models of digital offset machines.

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 2016
It is shown in this paper that knowledge of the spatially measured temperatures inside the refining zone in TMP refiners is essential in describing non-linear dynamics of high consistency refining. By expanding the pulp and handsheet properties using piece-wise linear functions into the time domain, an auto-regressive model can be applied to verify ...

Cushioning properties of moulded pulp
Packaging Technology and Science, 1994AbstractCushion curves for a moulded pulp material were constructed and compared with cushion curves for an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. The ability of the moulded pulp material to provide some shock absorption resulted from a number of ‘dimples’ moulded into the pulp sheet.

Properties of hyperalkaline polysulphide pulps
Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 1997The term hyperalkaline polysulphide pulping is used to denote a process utilising a polysulphide pretreatment step at high alkalinity. The stabilising effect of polysulphide on carbohydrates is enhanced by higher alkali concentrations. The high alkali concentration in the stabilisation stage also increases the delignification rate in the subsequent ...

Rheological Properties of Butia Pulp
International Journal of Food Engineering, 2006Rheological parameters of Butia pulp were determined at different temperatures using a concentric cylinder Haake Rotovisco rheometer, model RV-20, with measurement system ZA-30. Butia pulp was found to exhibit non-Newtonian, pseudoplastic behavior at all temperatures and the rheological parameters were adequately described by the Herschel-Bulkley model.

Properties of Kininase in Rat Dental Pulp
Journal of Dental Research, 1984A kininase, capable of degrading bradykinin, was partially purified from the dental pulp of rats, and its properties were investigated. Chromatography on both Sephadex G-200 and DEAE Sephadex A-50 columns gave a single peak of kininase activity. The molecular weight of the enzyme, estimated by gel filtration, was about 67,000, and the optimum pH for ...
