Effect of Pulpectomy on Dentin Hardness
Journal of Dental Research, 1969The effect of pulp removal on dentin hardness was tested on dog teeth. Pulp removal did not decrease the dentin hardness, but it stopped further growth and maturation of younger teeth, resulting in thinner and softer dentin in comparison with that of unoperated teeth. Such an effect was particularly noticeable in coronal portions.

A comparison of pulpectomy alone versus pulpectomy with trephination for the relief of pain
Journal of Endodontics, 1996Patients who when initially seen have pain of endodontic origin have a higher incidence of posttreatment pain than those who are pain-free pretreatment. The purpose of this study was to compare two methods of treatment--pulpectomy alone or pulpectomy with trephination--for the reduction of posttreatment pain in patients presenting with acute ...

Pain suppression after pulpectomy with preoperative flurbiprofen
Journal of Endodontics, 1987The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinically the effectiveness of preoperatively administered flurbiprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, in suppressing postendodontic treatment pain. Endodontic treatment completion following emergency pulpectomy.
Community dental health, 2010Emergency pulpectomy is frequently performed to relieve pain experienced by patients following acute episodes of endodontic pain, or to limit the risks of infection or possible root resorption following traumatic pulpal exposures. The aim of this study was to examine subsequent patient attendance for completion of root canal treatment following ...

[After pulpectomy--dento-periodontal adaptation].
Realites cliniques : revue europeenne d'odontologie, 1992Recovery after an endodontic treatment can only be assessed clinically, on the basis of symptomatological and radiographic data, for lack of histo-clinical correlations. An anatomicopathological examination of damaged tissues pinpoints the anatomical obstacles and tissular modifications apt to undermine the success of root canal work.

Evidence-Based Review of Clinical Studies on Pulpectomy
Journal of Endodontics, 2009In this section, we analyze recent studies on pulpectomy procedures. These procedures represent an interesting example of dental treatment offered by general dentists, pediatric dentists, and endodontists. Accordingly, there is a need for a centralized source of analysis of these studies.
