Experimentally induced pulpitis
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1972Abstract Cavities were prepared in forty-five teeth from four monkeys. Soft carious human dentine was placed in fifteen cavities, which were then filled with amalgam. Guttapercha temporary fillings were placed in seventeen teeth, and thirteen cavities were left unfilled.

The Roles and Molecular Mechanisms of HIF-1α in Pulpitis
Journal of dentistry researchPulpitis is characterized by inflammation within dental pulp tissue, primarily triggered by bacterial infection. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), a key transcriptional regulator, is stabilized under the hypoxic conditions associated with pulpitis ...

Cuproptosis Aggravates Pulpitis by Inhibiting the Pentose Phosphate Pathway
Journal of dentistry researchExcessive copper becomes toxic, driving inflammation, and, when copper exceeds a certain threshold, it even leads to a novel programmed cell death termed cuproptosis. However, disordered copper metabolism and its mechanism in pulpitis remain unclear.

Anachoretic Effect of Pulpitis
Journal of Dental Research, 1968Bacteria were found in histologic sections and cultures of unexposed pulp in 48 of 67 teeth from dogs. Deep Class V cavities had been prepared in these teeth. The dogs had been intravenously inoculated with bacteria of the same immunologic types as those identified in pulps.

The pharmacotherapy of pulpitis
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1962Abstract We have discussed the possibility of applying pharmacotherapy in pulpitis by means of a combination of highly potent corticoids, antibiotics, and local anesthetics. This preparation was used in severe to very severe cases, some of which presented exposure of the pulp, accompanying periodontitis, and neuralgiform pains.

Oral diseases are usually caused by inflammation and bacterial infection. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), which come from both autologous inflammation tissue and bacterial infection, play an important role in this process.
