Upalom parodontnih tkiva širenjem bolesti pulpe i obrnuto, razvijaju se promjene koje nazivamo pulpo – parodontne lezije. Komplicirane su i teške za prepoznati i liječiti. Za lakše snalaženje, treba se oslanjati na klasifikacije od kojih je najčešće korištena onu temeljena na primarnome uzroku bolesti.
