Formocresol pulpotomy in deciduous teeth
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1964Coronal pulp amputation and applica tion of formocresol for three to five days was used in the treatment of 324 decidu ous molars with carious exposures. Roentgenographic and clinical evaluations were carried out over four years; treat ment was successful in more than 90 per cent of the molars treated by use of the formocresol-pulpotomy technic ...

Vascularization after pulpotomy.
Proceedings of the Finnish Dental Society. Suomen Hammaslaakariseuran toimituksia, 1992The vascular changes of the pulpal vessels in experimentally induced pulpotomy in dog tooth were investigated using microcorrosive resin casts technique and scanning electron microscopic examination. The pulpal tissues of the permanent mandibular molars were amputated and then dressed with calcium hydrate.

Resolution of periapical radiolucency following pulpotomy
Journal of Endodontics, 1983There is evidence in the literature that some periapical lesions can be resolved by conservative management of the pulpal tissues rather than by traditional endodontic therapy (1-4). Moore (1) showed apparent resolution of periapical lesions radiographically in three of eight vital carious teeth after treatment by various direct and indirect capping ...

Formocresol Pulpotomy on (Young) Permanent Teeth
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1972Permanent teeth with necrotic pulps can be treated with the same procedure that is used for the treatment of similarly involved deciduous molars—a two-step pulpotomy with use of Formocresol. Forty-three teeth have been treated with the procedure and clinical and radiographic data substantiate the success of the pulpotomy.

[Pulpotomy of deciduous teeth].
Revue belge de medecine dentaire, 2004Rather easy to perform, pulpotomy of the deciduous teeth is the most frequent endodontic treatment performed on children, but also the most controversial. Based on the amputation of the pulp chamber and the conservation of the inflammation-free root canals, the clinical results can be good, depending on the materials used.
