On the Rotational Frequency Splitting in Oblique Pulsators
Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 1985Abstract We derive the “rotational splitting” of the frequencies of adiabatic nonradial oscillations whose symmetry axis is inclined to the stellar rotational axis. Our result disagrees with Aizenman et al. (1984; AAA 38.065.159) and Pesnell (1985; Astrophys. J., 292, 238), and we discuss the cause of the discrepancies.

Low-Frequency Pulsations of Coronal Magnetic Loops
Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 2001We analyze low-frequency intensity fluctuations of the microwave emission from solar flares at frequencies 22 and 37 GHz. The three microwave bursts of durations of about 1 h, observed at the Metsahovi Radio Observatory (Finland) with the time resolution of 0.1 and 0.05 s, are studied.

Low-frequency spatial-pattern pulsations in a laser
OSA Annual Meeting, 1993We have observed in a He-Xe laser that its multimode spatial pattern can pulse at frequencies much less than the frequency spacing between the transverse modes of the cavity.

Articulated Pipes Conveying Fluid Pulsating with High Frequency
Nonlinear Dynamics, 1999The author investigates stability and nonlinear dynamics of two articulated pipes conveying fluid with a high-frequency pulsating component. The non-autonomous model equations are converted into autonomous ones by approximating fast excitation terms with slowly varying terms. The downward hanging pipe position will lose stability if the mean flow speed

PC1 with a broad frequency spectrum — “Goose pulsations”
Studia Geophysica et Geodaetica, 2009Geomagnetic pulsations in the frequency range of Pc1 pearl waves with the dynamic spectra having a very narrow spectrum width at the beginning of the event and a very broad spectrum width (Δf/f0 ∼ 1) in the later part of the event are analyzed. One of the observed events shown by the dynamic spectrum resembles a goose with the beak at the beginning of ...

Control and Prediction of Pulsation Frequency in a Duct System
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1946Abstract The authors present the results of studies on compressor-duct systems which are characterized by unstable operation over some portion of the performance curves. The principles of the Helmholtz resonator are explained, and the prediction of pulsations in a duct system may be developed by considering that the system acts as a ...

The Pulsation Frequency of Nonspherical Gas Bubbles in Liquids
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1953The effect of nonspherical shape on the pulsation frequency of a gas bubble in a liquid is calculated. The frequency is expressed in terms of a stiffness constant independent of shape and an inertial constant mathematically equivalent to the reciprocal of the electrostatic capacitance of a conductor having the same shape as the bubble.

Ultralow-frequency pulsations: Earth and Jupiter compared
Advances in Space Research, 1995Abstract Ultra-low frequency pulsations are one of the most important signatures of magnetospheric dynamics. Numerous observations of these waves have been reported with respect to the Earth magnetosphere, which led to a very detailed understanding of these waves. Some observations of ULF pulsations in the Jovian magnetosphere have been reported too.

Theory of medium-frequency pulsating-field machines
Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1964A new method is shown for calculating the complete, including peak, characteristics of the pulsating-field machine. It provides the open-circuit, short-circuit and on-load characteristics. The Guy-type generator is analysed. The relations obtained are as simple as any of those known for common industrial-frequency generators.
