Heat Transport Characteristics of a Pulsating Heat Pipe

ASME/JSME 2007 Thermal Engineering Heat Transfer Summer Conference, Volume 2, 2007
Heat transport characteristics of a closed loop pulsating heat pipe (PHP) have been investigated experimentally. The heat pipe consists of 12 turn copper pipes with 2mm inner diameter. The lengths of heating, adiabatic and cooling sections are 53mm, 100mm and 51mm, respectively.

Thermal Characterization of Pulsating Heat Pipes

Thermal and Thermomechanical Proceedings 10th Intersociety Conference on Phenomena in Electronics Systems, 2006. ITHERM 2006., 2006
Experimental studies were carried out to understand the heat transfer characteristics of pulsating heat pipes. Two heat pipes with different working fluids of HFC-134a and butane are evaluated. Both heat pipes are made of aluminum plate and have the same width of 50 mm and thickness of 1.9 mm.

Analysis of heat transfer in unlooped and looped pulsating heat pipes

International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 2002
An advanced heat transfer model for both unlooped and looped Pulsating Heat Pipes (PHPs) with multiple liquid slugs and vapor plugs has been developed. The thin film evaporation and condensation models have been incorporated with the model to predict the behavior of vapor plugs and liquid slugs in the PHP.
