Modulation of Voltage-Gated Calcium Influx by Electromagnetic Irradiation With Terahertz Gaussian Pulse

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The voltage-gated calcium influxes modulated with terahertz Gaussian pulse is presented in this paper, and temperature rise is evaluated to monitor the terahertz thermal effects involved in the modulation. From the numerical results, inhibition effect on

A Bandwidth Efficient Hybrid Multilevel Pulse Width Modulation for Visible Light Communication System: Experimental and Theoretical Evaluation

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2022
Visible light communication (VLC) is considered a new technology for interconnecting devices in 5G and beyond. VLC can provide additional bandwidth for communicating devices which can help to reduce the radio frequency bandwidth congestion. In this work,

Direct Detection of Bipolar Pulse Amplitude Modulation

open access: yesJournal of Lightwave Technology, 2020
Pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) is a widely employed digital modulation format. PAM formats are generally classified as bipolar PAM (BPAM) if using both positive and negative amplitude levels, and unipolar PAM (UPAM) if using only non-negative amplitude levels.

Hybrid Modulation for Modular Voltage Source Inverters with Coupled Reactors

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This paper proposes and discusses a concept of a hybrid modulation for the control of modular voltage source inverters with coupled reactors. The use of coupled reactors as the integrating elements leads to significant reduction in the size and weight of

Experimental Comparison of PAM, CAP, and DMT Modulations in Phosphorescent White LED Transmission Link

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
In the paper, an experimental comparison of pulse amplitude, carrierless amplitude-phase, and discrete multitone modulations is carried in a visible light communications link employing white phosphorescent light-emitting diode (LED) as a transmitter.

Investigation of the wakefield generation in the interaction of the intense laser pulse with gas [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم و فنون هسته‌ای, 2021
In the present work, the formation of the wakefield during the interaction of intense laser pulse with a gas medium has been investigated by using PIC simulation code, including the ionization process.

DFT Spread-Optical Pulse Amplitude Modulation for Visible Light Communication Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
DC-biased optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DCO-OFDM) has been proposed in visible light communication (VLC) to overcome the limited modulation bandwidth of light emitting diode (LED).

M-ary Amplitude Shift Keying Power and Information Synchronous Transmission Based on Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper proposes an M-ary amplitude shift keying (MASK) power and information synchronous transmission system based on phase-shifted full-bridge (PSFB) for applications in wireless power transmission (WPT).

Superposed pulse amplitude modulation for visible light communication

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel modulation scheme called superposed pulse amplitude modulation (SPAM) which is low-cost, insensitive to non-linearity of light emitting diode (LED). Multiple optical pulses transmit parallelly from different spatial position in the LED array and overlap linearly in free space to realize SPAM.

Neural network model of vestibular nuclei reaction to onset of vestibular prosthetic stimulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2016
The vestibular system incorporates multiple sensory pathways to provide crucial information about head and body motion. Damage to the semicircular canals, the peripheral vestibular organs that sense rotational velocities of the head, can severely degrade
