Pulse width modulation

2006
Pulse width modulation is a form of pulse coding where the modulated signal contains a chosen frequency or band of frequencies as the main components plus harmonics of very high order that can be easily filtered. Even though PWM originated in telecommunication systems, it is now very common in power electronic circuits: dc to dc converters, dc to ac ...

The frequency spectrum of pulse width modulated signals

Signal Processing, 2003
The determination of the frequency spectrum of a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal with general band-limited input x(t) has been an open problem for many years. We describe a new approach that gives exact analytical expressions for the spectra of uniform-sampling PWM signals and natural-sampling PWM signals with single-edge as well as with double-edge

Accelerometer with pulse width modulation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1992
An accelerometer having a movable electrode which is moved according to acceleration with respect to a fixed electrode disposed in opposition to the movable electrode. An output device generates an output voltage which is proportional to the acceleration by measuring a gap between the movable electrode and the fixed electrode.

Memristor-based pulse width modulator circuit

2016 28th International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM), 2016
This paper discusses the use of the memristor in one of the most important modulation techniques in communication field namely the pulse-width modulation. A fundamental two designs for memristor-based lead and trail PWM are discussed with mathematical analysis and PSPICE simulation results which show a great matching with the analytical formulation ...

The impact of phase modulation on the performance of pulse-width modulated controls

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
For resource-intensive processes such as heating and cooling systems that use pulse-width modulated (PWM) controls, the residual of the PWM signal is a significant fraction of the process variance. In this paper, the impact on control performance of continuously modulating the phase of PWM signals in order to minimize the demand for a shared resource ...

Pulse-Width Modulation Regulators

2015
In the present chapter, the results of Chap. 10 are developed for power supply systems with \(PWM\) boost and buck- boost converters . Regime parameters of converter are determined relatively to the maximum permissible load voltage and the control pulse width. Regime change and correspondence between various regime parameters are examined as projective

Pulse Width Modulated Output

2016
The PWM support in the ARTIK is a direct benefit from implementing the Arduino architecture inside a powerful Linux architecture. The ARTIK PWM works very similarly to the Arduino feature but there are some additional capabilities that a Linux kernel offers in addition to the standard Arduino support.
