Pulse width modulated optical OFDM
2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Workshop (ICCW), 2015In this paper, the PWM encoding of an optical OFDM transmission is studied and simulated. Traditional optical OFDM schemes make use of linear drivers, but the inherent nonlinear behavior of the optical emitters produce a harmful effect on the demodulated signal.

Pulse-width modulation in sigma-delta modulators
Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010Time-encoding machines map analog or multi-bit digital signals to a binary stream. The information contained in the input signal is preserved by the high resolution achieved in the time domain. Pulse-Width Modulators (PWMs) rely on a similar operation principle.

Pulse width modulation with frequency changing
2015 9th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO), 2015Pulse width modulation (PWM) is widely used in different applications. PWM transform the information in the amplitude of a bounded input signal into the pulse width output signal, without suffering from quantization noise. The frequency of the output signal is usually constant.

Spectrum of a frequency modulated pulse width modulation signal
International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2013AbstractIn power electronics, the switching elements are controlled by pulse width modulated (PWM) signals making their currents on and off repeatedly. This might cause electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems especially in switched mode power supplies.

Pulse-Width-Modulation Techniques: A Review
IETE Journal of Research, 2000Pulse-width-Modulation techniques are used for, harmonic elimination and/or reduction at the output of the inverter and simultaneously achieving the output voltage control. Microprocessor based implementation offers many advantages hence stress is to develop PWM techniques so that on-line microprocessor based implementation is easily possible ...

Pulse width modulated series compensator
IEE Proceedings - Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 2002In recent years, several power electronics based technologies, such as the thyristor controlled series capacitor and the unified power flow controller, have been introduced to provide active control of power flow through transmission lines. They have been prompted by the need to utilise existing lines up to their thermal limits to feed power to an ...

Distortionless RF pulse width modulation
The 2002 45th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002. MWSCAS-2002., 2003A method is presented to synthesize a switching signal which linearly encodes a complex-modulated RF signal to an RF carrier frequency. The switching distortion associated with this method is limited to high-pass components out of band. Consequently, the switching signal may be filtered after high efficiency amplification to produce the linear RF ...

Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is the foundation of control in power electronics. Its design affects almost all aspects of converter operation, from steady-state and dynamic control performance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and thermal design. The basic principle of commonly used PWM methods has been well established and easy to understand.

Digital pulse width modulator architectures
2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004This paper presents a survey and classification of architectures for integrated circuit implementation of digital pulse-width modulators (DPWM) targeting digital control of high-frequency switching DC-DC power converters. Previously presented designs are identified as particular cases of the proposed classification.

Pulse-Width Modulation Regulators
2015In the present chapter, the results of Chap. 10 are developed for power supply systems with \(PWM\) boost and buck- boost converters . Regime parameters of converter are determined relatively to the maximum permissible load voltage and the control pulse width. Regime change and correspondence between various regime parameters are examined as projective
