Finite-amplitude, pulsed, ultrasonic beams

2008
An analytical, approximate solution of the inviscid KZK equation for a nonlinear pulsed sound beam radiated by an acoustic source with a Gaussian velocity distribution, is obtained by means of the renormalization method. This method involves two steps. First, the transient, weakly nonlinear field is computed.

Increased ocular pulse amplitude revealing aortic regurgitation

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2004
To report a case in which observation of increased ocular pulse amplitude (OPA) estimates in both eyes lead to a diagnosis of, and was presumably due to, aortic regurgitation.Case report. An incidental finding of high OPA estimates in both eyes lead to a finding of widened arterial pulse pressure and aortic regurgitation.

Margin Measurements of Pulse Amplitude Modulation Channels

Optical Data Storage Topical Meeting, 1991
High capacity optical disk drives are in production which conform to the ANSI proposal BSR X 3.191, known as the 130mm Write-Once Sampled Servo RZ Selectable Pitch Optical Disk Cartridge (reference 1). The capacity of these cartridges is 1280 million bytes available to the user, under ECC protection.

Long-pulse, amplitude-modulated optical parametric oscillator

Applied Optics, 1996
A singly resonant optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on periodically poled LiNbO(3) is pumped by a Nd:YAG-based oscillator-modulator-amplifier source. This pump source, operating at 1.064 μm, provides the ability to control the temporal characteristics of the OPO waveform.

Pulse-amplitude transmission system (PATSY)

Proceedings of the May 5-7, 1970, spring joint computer conference on - AFIPS '70 (Spring), 1970
A new type of pulse-amplitude transmission system (PATSY) has been developed to transmit numeric data asynchronously over relatively short distances. The "transmitting station" requires no power or data set. As many as 32 transmitting stations can be attached to a single "receiving station." Other advantages are simplicity, flexibility, and low cost ...

Ten-Mc Pulse-Amplitude Discriminator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1959
A pulse-height discriminator has been developed which is capable of operating at repetition rates up to 10 Mc. It accepts positive input pulses with a threshold adjustable from 1 to 11 v. The output signal is of constant shape and amplitude. The circuit is described and test results are given.

High-Speed Pulse Amplitude Discriminator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1958
A circuit for pulse height discrimination in fast counting systems is described. Input pulses whose amplitude exceeds the threshold bias, adjustable from 1 to 21 volts, give rise to a positive output pulse of standard amplitude (6 volts), but length determined by the length of the input signal.
