Compressive wireless pulse sensing

2015 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS), 2015
Enabled by recent sensing and wireless chips, small wireless sensors can now be attached to various wearable devices such as finger rings and wrist bands. In this paper, we describe a compressive sensing based approach to such wireless devices that exploits sparsity of signal to reduce power consumption for both sensing and transmission.

Binary pulse compression codes

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1967
An analytical technique for generating good binary pulse compression codes is developed. The first step in constructing a code of a given length N is to divide all the residues modulo N and less than N into residue classes. A code digit a(i)=\pm 1 is assigned to all members, i , of certain of these classes and a(i)=-1 to N and all members, i , of the ...

Wave collapse and optical-pulse compression

Physical Review A, 1993
The past several decades of development of nonlinear optics clearly demonstrated an important role playing by universal nonlinear models. Simply formulated, but, at the same time, rich in content, the models such as the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the sine-Gordon equation, the system describing three-wave resonant interaction, and others occur in a

Statistical pulse compression

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1984
The seismic method in petroleum exploration is an echo-location technique to detect interfaces between the subsurface sedimentary layers of the earth. The received seismic reflection record (field trace), in general, may be modeled as a linear time-varying (LTV) system.
