Compressive Video via IR-Pulsed Illumination
We propose and demonstrate a compressive temporal imaging system based on pulsed illumination to encode temporal dynamics into the imaging sensor during exposure time. Our approach enables >10x increase in effective frame rate without increasing camera complexity.

This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

Magnetic pulse compression in the prepulse circuit for a 1 kW, 1kHz XeCl excimer laser [PDF]
Using high quality low loss ferrite, a single stage magnetic pulse compression network has been demonstrated working at 1 kHz PRF. A pulse compression factor of 4 has been achieved, delivering a 50 ns pulse as prepulse in the excitation circuit for a ...

In this thesis I investigate two methods for generating ultrashort laser pulses in spectral regions which are ordinarily difficult to achieve by the existing techniques. These pulses are specially attractive in the study of ultrafast (few femtosecond) atomic and molecular dynamics. The first involves Optical Parametric Amplification (OPA) mediated by

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...
