American Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 1965Abstract This study was made to discover what aftereffect music had on pulse rates and work output of short duration. Pulse rates and bicycle ergometer riding times of 15 subjects were measured after three experimental conditions: fast music, slow music, and no music.

Music Perception, 1990Guidelines are suggested for synthesizing and testing musical microstructure, especially as applied to the composer's pulse. It is proposed that research in music microstructure use research equipment and acoustic methods not less stringent than those used for speech research.
