Challenges during Flash Lamp Annealing of Aerosol‐Deposited Barium Titanate Films

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Aerosol deposition is used to rapidly deposit barium titanate films with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 μm at room temperature, eliminating the need for further densification. However, to recover the electromechanical properties, annealing is required, which limits the usage of temperature‐sensitive substrates.

Characterization and modeling of supercritical CO2 pulse pressures: Effects of activator mass and discharge plate thickness

open access: yesRock Mechanics Bulletin
Utilizing a bespoke CO2 phase transition pulse pressure experimental system, we conducted pulse pressure characterization tests across various activator masses, CO2 filling pressures, and energy discharge plate thicknesses.

Temporal evolution of plasma parameters in a pulse-modulated capacitively coupled Ar/O2 mixture discharge

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
The time-resolved measurements of the plasma parameters are carried out in a pulse-modulated low pressure capacitively coupled discharge operated in argon and argon–oxygen mixtures.

Applicability of pulse pressure variation: how many shades of grey?

open access: yesCritical Care, 2015
Since its first description in 1999 [1], many studies have demonstrated the value of pulse pressure variation (PPV) as a predictor of fluid responsiveness.

Hybrid Auxetic Architectures: Integrating Curvature‐Driven Design for Enhanced Mechanical Tunability and Structural Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

The effect of positive end-expiratory pressure on pulse pressure variation

open access: yesSouthern African Journal of Anaesthesia and Analgesia, 2012
Objectives: To determine the effect of different levels of positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) on pulse pressure variation (PPV).Design: An observational study. Setting: Operating theatres of a tertiary training hospital.Subjects: Ventilated patients who required intra-arterial blood pressure monitoring.Outcome measures: PPV during different levels

Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

Evaluation of Glycopyrrolate as an Anticholinergic in Buffalo Calves (Bubalus bubalis)

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
Twelve experimental trials were undertaken on clinically healthy male buffalo calves. Glycopyrrolate was injected @ 0.01 mg/kg, IM. After glycopyrrolate administration, two animals became ataxic.
