On-chip laser Doppler vibrometer for arterial pulse wave velocity measurement [PDF]
Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is an important marker for cardiovascular risk. The Laser Doppler vibrometry has been suggested as a potential technique to measure the local carotid PWV by measuring the transit time of the pulse wave between two locations ...

Photoplethysmography and electrocardiography for real time evaluation of pulse transit time A diagnostic marker of peripheral vascular diseases [PDF]
In this work, we report the results of a project, devoted to the development of a real time analysis for non-invasive monitoring of pulse transit time values on people affected by peripheral vascular diseases.

Venous Pulse Transit Time in Normal Pregnancy and Preeclampsia [PDF]
Uncomplicated pregnancies (n = 16) were evaluated longitudinally and compared to early- (n = 12) and late-onset (n = 14) preeclampsia patients, assessed once at diagnosis. Pulse transit time (PTT), equivalent to pulse wave velocity, was measured as the time interval between corresponding characteristics of electrocardiography and Doppler waves ...

Relationship between HsCRP and Pulse Transit Time
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between high sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and pulse transit time (PPT). Apparently healthy 233 subjects had been enrolled in the health promotion center of the Pusan National University Hospital from Jan. 29 to Feb. 26, 2004.

Transit time of chirped pulses through one-dimensional, nonabsorbing barriers [PDF]
Experiments show that the transit times of chirped, narrow-band pulses that move across nonabsorbing, one-dimensional barriers are modified dramatically by the interplay between the chirp and the transmission function of the sample. In an experiment we monitored 0.9-ns chirped, nearly Gaussian pulses as they traversed a 450-mum GaAs etalon.

Coherence between subjective experience and physiology in emotion: Individual differences and implications for well-being. [PDF]
Emotion theorists have characterized emotions as involving coherent responding across various emotion response systems (e.g., covariation of subjective experience and physiology). Greater response system coherence has been theorized to promote well-being,

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
