Direct Ink Writing of Conductive Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the use of direct ink writing (DIW) for fabricating conductive hydrogels with customizable 3D structures. It outlines the rheological requirements for successful DIW, followed by an exploration of the materials and ink formulations used to impart electronic and/or ionic conductivity to hydrogels while maintaining printability ...

Biomimetic Design of Biocompatible Neural Probes for Deep Brain Signal Monitoring and Stimulation: Super Static Interface for Immune Response‐Enhanced Contact

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin, flexible neural probes are developed with an innovative, biomimetic design incorporating brain tissue‐compatible materials. The material system employs biomolecule‐based encapsulation agents to mitigate inflammatory responses, as demonstrated through comprehensive in vitro and in vivo studies.

Self Modulation and Scattering Instability of a Relativistic Short Laser Pulse in an Underdense Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Characterization of self-consistent laser-plasma evolutions serves as a fundamental issue in the field of relativistic laser-plasma interactions. In this paper, we present an analysis framework for description of these evolutions during propagation of a short intense laser pulse in a sub-critical high-density plasma (the pulse length exceeds the plasma

Off‐Stoichiometry Engineering of the Electrical and Optical Properties of SrNbO3 Using Oxide Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The plasma edge of transparent conducting oxide SrNbO3 shifts from ∼2 eV in the visible range to 1.37 eV in the near‐infrared region by off‐stoichiometry using the vacancy sites as quasi‐substitutional virtual elements. This work advances the stoichiometry engineering of perovskite oxides using oxide molecular beam epitaxy, allowing synthesis beyond ...

Behavior of Bubble Pulse in Food Processing Using Underwater Shock Wave

open access: yesInternational Journal of Multiphysics, 2016
The food processing technology using a shock wave can prevent deterioration of the food by heat because it can process food in a short time. However, in order to process safely, it is important to clarify the behavior of the shock wave because the action

Wave breaking in the short-pulse equation [PDF]

open access: yesDynam. Part. Differ. Eq. 6 (2009) 291-310, 2009
Sufficient conditions for wave breaking are found for the short-pulse equation describing wave packets of few cycles on the ultra-short pulse scale. The analysis relies on the method of characteristics and conserved quantities of the short-pulse equation and holds both on an infinite line and in a periodic domain.

Smooth and non-smooth traveling wave solutions of some generalized Camassa-Holm equations

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we employ two recent analytical approaches to investigate the possible classes of traveling wave solutions of some members of a recently-derived integrable family of generalized Camassa-Holm (GCH) equations.
