Exploring Electronic States and Ultrafast Electron Dynamics in AlInP Window Layers: The Role of Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the surface characteristics of AlInP (001), crucial for advanced solar cells and photoelectrochemical devices. Using theoretical modeling and experiments, it identifies how phosphorus‐rich and indium‐rich surfaces create mid‐gap states that pin the Fermi level and influence ultrafast electron dynamics.

A System for In-Ear Pulse Wave Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The measurement of the pulse wave has proven to be a vital tool in medical diagnosis. Whereby most pulse wave measurements are carried out at extremities, this work proposes a system for measuring the pulse wave and the Pulse Arrival Time (PAT) in the interior of the ear.

Comparison of an Oscillometric Method with Cardiac Magnetic Resonance for the Analysis of Aortic Pulse Wave Velocity

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Objectives Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is the proposed gold-standard for the assessment of aortic elastic properties. The aim of this study was to compare aortic PWV determined by a recently developed oscillometric device with cardiac magnetic resonance ...

Self‐organized Criticality in Neuromorphic Nanowire Networks With Tunable and Local Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Memristive nanowire networks (NWNs) are shown to be electrically tunable to a critical state where specific local dynamics evaluated by multiterminal characterization are exploited as feature selection in nonlinear transformation (NLT) tasks.

Multi‐Pathway Upconversion Emission in Symmetry‐Broken Nanocavities: Broadband Multiresonant Enhancement and Anti‐Correlated Interfacial Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Symmetry‐broken plasmonic nanoantenna arrays achieve broadband multiresonant enhancement of second harmonic generation (SHG), third harmonic generation (THG), and upconversion photoluminescence (UCPL), under femtosecond laser excitation across the near‐infrared range (1000–1600 nm).

Tailoring Hole‐Blocking Layers Enables a Versatile Approach for Fast Photomultiplication‐Type Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the role of hole‐blocking layers (HBLs), particularly the combination of two HBLs in photomultiplication‐type organic photodetectors (PM‐OPDs), which results in high gain and record‐fast response. The proposed HBL strategy also allows for the use of photoactive layer with balanced donor–acceptor stoichiometry, which can be ...

Spectral stability for classical periodic waves of the Ostrovsky and short pulse models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We consider the Ostrovsky and short pulse models in a symmetric spatial interval, subject to periodic boundary conditions. For the Ostrovsky case, we revisit the classical periodic traveling waves and for the short pulse model, we explicitly construct traveling waves in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Spectral analysis of intraocular pressure pulse wave in ocular hypertensive and primary open angle glaucoma patients

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
Context: In attempt to find an alternative way to determine conversion from ocular hypertension to primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) (besides visual field and optic disc changes), we analyzed intraocular pressure (IOP) pulse wave in spectral domain ...
