Impact of NBTI-Induced Pulse-Width Modulation on SET Pulse-Width Measurement

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2013
This paper gives an explanation that SET pulse-width modulation in bulk CMOS devices happens due to negative bias temperature instability (NBTI). To investigate this, we propose and implement a stress adjustable pulse-width measurement circuit. Measurement results of test chips fabricated in a 65nm bulk CMOS process clearly show that pulse-width ...

A Simple Approach of Space-vector Pulse Width Modulation Realization Based on Field Programmable Gate Array [PDF]

open access: yesElectric Power Components and Systems, 2010
Employing a field programmable gate array to realize space-vector pulse width modulation is a solution to boost system performance. Although there is much literature in the application of three-phase space-vector pulse width modulation based on field ...

Pulse-width modulation in sigma-delta modulators

Proceedings of 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2010
Time-encoding machines map analog or multi-bit digital signals to a binary stream. The information contained in the input signal is preserved by the high resolution achieved in the time domain. Pulse-Width Modulators (PWMs) rely on a similar operation principle.

Sliding Mode Pulse Width Modulation

2007 American Control Conference, 2007
This paper presents sliding mode pulse width modulation (SMPWM) control methodologies for a current- controlled inverter. Discussion begins with circuit analysis, proper references, and design of sliding surfaces. Based on this formulation, two novel approaches adopt sliding mode concept are proposed to make the system tracking selected references ...

Pulse width modulated optical OFDM

2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Workshop (ICCW), 2015
In this paper, the PWM encoding of an optical OFDM transmission is studied and simulated. Traditional optical OFDM schemes make use of linear drivers, but the inherent nonlinear behavior of the optical emitters produce a harmful effect on the demodulated signal.

Pulse Width Modulation’s Impact

2021
PWM technologies have multiple impacts on the power electronics converters. First, the switching losses of power electronics devices will be accumulated together with PWM and impact the converter power losses. Second, pulse voltage will cause ripple on the passive components in the output side.

Principle of Pulse Width Modulation

2021
In Chap. 1, the basic concept of pulse width modulation has been introduced briefly. In this chapter, the principle of pulse width modulation will be further discussed. Based on fundamental principle, space vector PWM (SVPWM) and carrier-based PWM (CBPWM) will be presented, respectively, together with the relationship between these two approaches. With

A prefilter equalizer for pulse width modulation

Signal Processing, 2012
This article demonstrates the feasibility of pulse-width-modulation (PWM) of discrete time signals in a digital audio amplifier without inducing the nonlinear distortion usually associated with straightforward PWM. This is achieved by prefiltering the signal prior to the PWM mapping in such a manner that the overall result is distortion-free.
