Effect of Pulsed Currents on Oxygen and Carbon Contents of Trivalent Chromium Based Deposits

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2023
Hexavalent chromium salts have been identified as toxic for both humans and the environment by Health authorities, which led the authorities to take measures such as the implementation of strict rules, such as the REACH regulation. While some applications may be substituted by other processes, the thick hard chromium plating used for its functional ...

Displacement Reaction in Pulse Current Deposition of PtRu for Methanol Electro-Oxidation

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2009
Galvanostatic depositions in rectangular pulses and nitrosol precursors were employed to prepare PtRu nanoparticles on carbon clothes in various sizes and compositions. Variables including current on-time Ton, current off-time Toff, and current density were explored to identify the optimized catalytic performances for methanol electro-oxidation ...

Influence of deposited energy on shock wave induced by underwater pulsed current discharge

Physics of Plasmas, 2016
In this paper, an integrated experimental system is established to study the influence of deposited energy on the intensity of the shock wave induced by underwater pulse discharge. Considering the time varying behavior of the arc, the calculation methods of the deposited energy into the plasma channel and the average arc resistance are proposed and ...

Electrochemical deposition of the cobalt nanostructure by double template and pulse current methods

Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2007
Abstract An electrochemical pulse method and the principles of the so-called double template deposition have been developed to prepare a cobalt nanomaterial. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis reveal a material with double structure; fibers that grow from the bottom of the pores in the aluminum oxide membrane present many subdivision due to the ...

High Deposition Pulse Current GMAW Can Change Current Scenario of Thick Wall Pipe Welding

Volume 6: Materials and Fabrication, Parts A and B, 2009
The high deposition pulse current gas metal arc welding (P-GMAW) with multiple drop transfer per pulse has been used to weld thick wall austenitic stainless steel pipe. Welding of the pipe was also carried by the commonly used shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and conventional gas metal arc welding (GMAW) processes and compared.
