A current transformer for microsecond pulses

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1968
A toroidal current pulse transformer suitable for the measurement of large microsecond current pulses is described. An accuracy of 2 percent was obtained in reproducing approximately rectangular pulses over the 0.5- to 20-µs range for amplitudes up to 250 A.

Production of fluorine with pulsed currents

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1992
During the d.c. electrolysis of KF-nHF melts, a passivating film of graphite fluoride (CFx) is formed on the carbon electrodes, leading to high anodic overvoltage. Pulsed electrolysis enables fluorine production with significant improvements if, during the lowest potential of the pulse, a small reduction current is applied to the carbon electrode ...

[Stimulant current diagnosis and therapy with pulsed currents].

Zeitschrift fur Orthopadie und ihre Grenzgebiete, 1984
Thanks to its efficiency and versatility, and the fact that it has none of the frequently negative side-effects of drugs, stimulant-current therapy has become rapidly more important. The use of defined stimulant-current pulses also enables the condition of neuromuscular system to be described accurately in terms of measurements--a valuable diagnostic ...

Earth Pulses in Direct Current

2004
The Earth’s pulse is evident in a variety of geomorphic processes that shape its surface. This chapter describes how electronic instrumentation has dramatically increased our capacity to investigate sediment transport by wind and water and to relate processes to morphological change.

Poetry to Pulsed Eddy Currents

1999
Most papers are about method and results, building blocks in the temples of physics and engineering. And rightly so. But this paper is about process, the process of discovery and of creativity. It is about frustration, joy, commitment, determination, steadfastness, failure, and ultimately triumph.

Pulsed Current Resistance Thermometry

1984
Taking advantage of the recent advances in electronics we have developed a resistance thermometry system for the cryogenic environment of Fermilab’s Energy Saver Accelerator that fits in a natural way with its microcomputer based control logic. The system is based on measuring the voltage across a sensing resistor immersed in the cryogenic fluid while ...
