Learned Micro-Doppler Representations for Targets Classification Based on Spectrogram Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposes a new approach for classifying ground moving targets captured by pulsed Doppler radar. Radar echo signals express the Doppler effect that moving targets produce. A learned feature representation extracted from spectrogram images using

Accreting X-ray millisecond pulsars observed with INTEGRAL

open access: yes, 2006
I review the properties of three X-ray accreting millisecond pulsars observed with INTEGRAL. Out of seven recently discovered accretion-powered pulsars (one discovered by INTEGRAL), three were observed with the INTEGRAL satellite up to 300 keV.

High‐Frequency Ultrasonographic Characterization of Subcutaneous Glomus Tumors

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Color Doppler image reveals intralesional hypervascularity. ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the clinical manifestations and ultrasonographic characteristics of glomus tumors under the nails and other subcutaneous soft tissues. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 45 patients with pathologically confirmed glomus tumors who underwent ...

Implementation and Performance of First‐Trimester Referral Ultrasound Scan Following the Introduction of National Guidelines

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
The expert assessment of fetal anatomy before 14 weeks is feasible when adopting a standardized protocol and allows an early diagnosis in most cases at risk for fetal anomaly following first trimester screening ultrasound. ABSTRACT Background To report the implementation across Fetal Medicine units and the agreement between first and second trimester ...

Tissue Doppler Imaging can be useful to distinguish pathological from physiological left ventricular hypertrophy: a study in master athletes and mild hypertensive subjects

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2009
Background Transthoracic echocardiography left ventricular wall thickness is often increased in master athletes and it results by intense physical training. Left Ventricular Hypertrophy can also be due to a constant pressure overload. Conventional Pulsed

Transcranial Color‐Coded Duplex Sonography in Large‐Vessel Vasculitis Compatible With Takayasu Arteritis Presenting Intracranial Involvement and Vertebrobasilar Dolichoectasia: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
This case illustrates sequential intracranial occlusions in large‐vessel vasculitis compatible with Takayasu arteritis preserving perfusion through robust collateral pathways. Transcranial color‐coded duplex sonography identified characteristic blunted flow patterns and focal turbulence, underscoring its value in detecting hemodynamic compromise beyond

Pre‐ and Post‐Interventional Hemodynamic Characterization of the Femoropopliteal Artery Using Vector Flow Imaging in Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease

open access: yesJournal of Ultrasound in Medicine, EarlyView.
Objectives The femoropopliteal (FP) artery is the most frequently revascularized segment in peripheral artery disease (PAD), followed by the iliac segment. Wall shear stress (WSS) is a key local factor implicated in both atherosclerotic plaque formation and restenosis after angioplasty.
