CRACK DETECTION USING PULSED EDDY CURRENT STIMULATED THERMOGRAPHY
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2011This contribution presents results from studies investigating factors that influence the detection of surface breaking cracks using pulsed eddy current thermography. The influences of the current strength and crack orientation in both ferromagnetic and nonâferromagnetic metals have been investigated.

Pulsed Eddy-Current Testing of Steel Sheets
1981This is a brief report on some early work on the testing of steel sheets using pulsed eddy currents. Penetration up to about 10 mm has been achieved and some artificial defects have been observed. Longer pulses are to be employed for deeper penetration, and more work done on the observation of defects. Some theoretical work is also reported.

Pulsed eddy current characterization of local wall-thinning
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2014Pulsed eddy current testing was carried out to inspect wall thinning. An excitation coil with a relatively small footprint was developed and used. An algorithm based on convolution and deconvolution operations was established to evaluate local wall-thinning.
