Diffusion MRI of the Body: Beyond PGSE‐EPI

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) is a widely used clinical imaging technique which is sensitive to changes in tissue microstructure including cellularity, perfusion, and tissue damage. DMRI has been used in whole‐body imaging as well as in targeted imaging of every major anatomical region.

Analytical time-domain model of transient eddy current field in pulsed eddy current testing

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2010
The transient eddy current field is analytically modeled by applying inverse Laplace transform to pulsed eddy current testing. The closed-form solution to transient eddy current field in a complex domain is obtained by using the truncated region eigenfunction expansion (TREE) method and the theory of reflection and transmission of electromagnetic waves.

Reconfigurable Giant Nonreciprocity at Near‐Normal Incidence via Phase‐Change Magneto‐Optical Metagratings

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A phase‐change magneto‐optical metagrating combines GST switching with InAs guided‐mode resonances to achieve strong nonreciprocal absorption contrast near normal incidence. A static magnetic bias creates direction‐dependent resonant splitting, while GST crystallization quenches and latches the response.

A Model of Pulsed Eddy Current Crack Detection

open access: yes, 1986
As its name implies, the pulsed eddy current (PEC) method makes use of a short burst of excitation current, rather than continuous sinusoidal (CW) current as is the case with conventional eddy current probes. Reflected fields, including flaw signal fields, are therefore time-dependent in the pulsed case, and are characterized by peak signal amplitude ...

Gray Matter Microstructure Measured Using Diffusion Imaging as a Biomarker of Severity in Lewy Body Diseases

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Despite widespread cortical involvement in Lewy body diseases, conventional gray matter magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) shows limited sensitivity. Diffusion‐weighted MRI‐derived microstructural measures have shown utility in Alzheimer's disease, but their application across the Lewy body disease spectrum remains limited ...

Group‐Patch Joint Compression: Compressing Dynamic B0 and Static RF Spatial Modulations Across k‐Space Subregion Groups for Highly Accelerated MRI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To accelerate MRI further, rapid B0 field modulations can be applied during oversampled readout to capture additional physical information, as in Wave‐CAIPI/FRONSAC/local B0 coils modulation techniques. These methods, however, turn the Fourier readout into a non‐Fourier‐encoded dimension that cannot be reconstructed by FFT, posing ...

View Order With Arbitrary Center Echoes

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To provide explicit, vendor‐independent view‐order constructions that enable selection of an arbitrary center echo in multi‐shot imaging, with a focus on RARE and MPRAGE. Methods Vendor‐independent view‐order methods were developed to assign echo and shot indices to a prescribed set of phase encodes, enabling explicit selection of the ...

Using multidifferential transducer for pulsed eddy current object inspection

open access: yes2017 IEEE First Ukraine Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (UKRCON), 2017
In this article is considered of experimental results of using the multidifferential type of a transducer at two excitation mode — pulsed and harmonic. The research was carried out on the plates-type samples made of steel and aluminium alloy which had artificial defects like crack.

The Potential for Absolute Temperature Imaging Based on Brain Metabolites Using an FID‐Shifting Approach in Gradient Echo Planar Spectroscopic Imaging (GREPSI)

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To implement and evaluate an efficient method for absolute temperature measurement using a gradient echo implementation of the echo planar spectroscopic imaging (EPSI) sequence. Methods The gradient echo EPSI sequence (GREPSI) utilizes an oscillating readout gradient together with continuous signal readout after slab selective ...
