Pulse modulated microwave and infrared thermography for superficial hyperthermia
Journal of Central South University, 2012A 3D temperature field distribution of biological tissue for superficial hyperthermia using a pulse modulated microwave (PMMW) was presented. A 3D sliced homogeneous phantom was radiated by the PMMW and an infrared thermal imager was applied to image temperature distribution throughout the phantom.

In this work we show the capabilities of non-destructive testing by pulsed infrared thermography (PIRT) on large-area silver-sinter layers. This method can achieve a similar reliability in detecting delamination as SAM and X-ray analysis.

Characterization of buried cylinders and spheres by pulsed infrared thermography
Journal of Applied Physics, 2005A theoretical model to calculate the time evolution of the surface temperature of an opaque sample containing buried cylinders or spheres, after the absorption of a short light pulse, has been developed. To do this we first calculate the temperature of the material when it is illuminated by a modulated light beam. Then, based on the analogy between the

Nondestructive Testing of Paint Thickness Measurement by Pulsed Infrared Thermography
2006 Joint 31st International Conference on Infrared Millimeter Waves and 14th International Conference on Teraherz Electronics, 2006In this paper, basic principles of active IR thermography are introduced, paints covered sample is excited by exterior energy with ordinary flashing lamps array, the subsequent change of surface temperature of the sample is monitored by an infrared camera, and sequence of thermal wave signal and data acquisition are processed using the computer, then ...

Multi-Pulse Infrared Thermography Applied to Improve Defect Detectability of Composites
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011Traditional pulse infrared thermography uses a single pulse with high energy to heat the specimen. For deeper or smaller defects, more energy must be conducted into the specimen to improve the detectability, which also may cause thermal impact damage in particular for composites.

Investigation of honeycomb structure using pulse infrared thermography method
SPIE Proceedings, 2010To reduce weight and improve strength in the aerospace industry, composite structure has gained popularity as a replacement for conventional materials and structures, such as adhesive bonding and honeycomb structure. Honeycomb structures composed by a honeycomb core between two facesheets are very common on aerospace parts.

Thermal characterization of rods, tubes and spheres using pulsed infrared thermography
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2007In this work we analyse the accuracy of an extension of the flash method to measure the thermal diffusivity of rods, tubes and spheres, which was recently proposed by the authors. We have performed measurements in a wide set of calibrated samples of different sizes and we have found that a lower limiting size of the radius can be established for the ...
