A novel approach for the design of functional semiconductors is presented, which utilizes the excellent optoelectronic properties of layered hybrid perovskites and the possibility to introduce a molecular photoswitch as the organic spacer. This concept is successfully demonstrated on a coumarin‐based system with the possibility to change the bandgap ...

A 3D nanowire‐network SERS substrate with robust adhesion is developed, featuring pronounced z‐direction optical activity, ultralow detection limit (1.5 × 10−13 M), and excellent signal uniformity (RSD < 10%). Enabled by enhanced light scattering, increased optical density of states, and structural reinforcement, the substrate demonstrates stable, high‐

Crystallization of TiO2 polymorphs from RF-sputtered, amorphous thin-film precursors
Crystalline TiO2 films of anatase, brookite, and rutile are reproducibly made from amorphous precursors deposited by RF magnetron sputtering, producing large-area, single phase films of uniform thickness.

Temperature-dependent 2D-3D growth transition of ultra-thin Pt films deposited by PLD
During the growth of metal thin films on dielectric substrates at a given deposition temperature T, the film's morphology is conditioned by the magnitude and asymmetry of up- and downhill diffusion.

Homogeneous films by inverse pulsed laser deposition
Abstract Recently, we proposed an alternative arrangement to traditional on- or off-axis PLD geometries, termed inverse PLD (IPLD) that is capable of producing films of improved surface morphology. Two configurations of this new target-substrate arrangement were developed, namely static and co-rotating IPLD.

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).
