Decay time analysis in pulse thermography

The European Physical Journal Special Topics, 2008
Pulse Thermography is being used since several years for rapid detection of subsurface defects. This method is well suited for industrial applications because no physical contact to the test object is needed. Within a short measurement time robust results are obtained. Besides phase evaluation the decay time of surface temperature can be analyzed.

Inspection of aerospace materials by pulsed thermography, lock-in thermography, and vibrothermography: a comparative study

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
Inspection of aerospace components has always been a challenge. Infrared thermography has demonstrated to be a useful tool for this matter. In this paper, we offer a comparative study involving three active techniques: pulsed thermography, lock-in thermography and vibrothermography.

Pulsed phased thermography with the wavelet transform

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000
Pulsed thermography (PT) is a well established approach in nondestructive evaluation of materials: a short thermal perturbation stimulates the specimen of interest and the subsequent surface temperature evolution reveals specimen subsurface structure and thermal properties.

Possible applications of pulse phase thermography

1996
Recently, the fundamental of the ''pulse phase thermography'' approach were described. As it is recalled, this approach combine somehow the well-known ''pulse thermography'' and the ''modulated thermography'' for which specimens are submitted to periodical excitation. Some advantages of this novel approach were demonstrated as well.
