Novel Progressing Cavity Pump Configurations Address Operational Challenges

SPE Artificial Lift Conference and Exhibition - Americas, 2020
Abstract Progressing Cavity (PC) pumps evolved from their industrial pump origins to a diverse range of geometries and configurations that satisfy a variety of oilfield artificial lift applications including several where no other lift systems had proved effective.

Scaling And Configuring Diode Pumped Slab Lasers

SPIE Proceedings, 1987
Lasers for some space applications have operational requirements for lifetime, efficiency and power output which can only be met by development of all solid-state laser sys-tems. Laser diode pumping of neodymium host materials has demonstrated good efficiency and lifetime at low power levels.

Thermal efficiencies of chemical heat pump configurations

Solar Energy, 1981
Abstract Thermal efficiencies of periodical absorption machines in storage, heat pump, refrigerator and upgrading configurations are discussed with regard to the specific heats involved. The entropy production is briefly analyzed and a novel description of the cascade coupling given.

Pumping configuration without focusing lenses for a small-sized diode-pumped Nd:YAG slab laser

Optics Letters, 1992
We propose an end-pumping method for a small-sized diode-pumped Nd:YAG laser. The miniature Nd:YAG slab is directly coupled to the pump diode without focusing lenses. With the use of total reflection on the slab surfaces, the pump light is confined to the laser mode volume.

Pumping mechanism for different gases in ion pumps with different configurations

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1988
Ion pumps have the capability of pumping all gases of gas. Different phenomena are involved whens differnet gases are pumped. According to the pumping mechanisms in ion pump, gases can be divided in three rough groups: getterable gases, hydrogen and moble gases.Several different configurations of ion pumps have been developed through the years, to ...

New developments in sputter‐ion pump configurations

Journal of Vacuum Science and Technology, 1976
A new sputter‐ion pump configuration is discussed. Features of this pump include (1) high throughput capability, (2) a completely closed magnetic circuit, and (3) field replaceable, water‐cooled cathodes. The cylindrical pump body is constructed of a ferromagnetic material functioning as part of the vacuum envelope, but also as a return path in the ...

Using Diurnal Power Price to Configure Pumped Storage

IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2006
In deregulated power markets, generated power can be time-shifted from a period of low price to that of high price by energy storage with an efficiency penalty. Pumped storage is a common form of energy storage. The total amount of power stored (megawatt-hour) is set by the reservoir capacity.

ICRF system in the JET pumped divertor configuration

Proceedings of 16th International Symposium on Fusion Engineering, 2002
After one year of operation the new A2 ICRF system installed for the pumped divertor phase of JET has achieved a coupled power of 16 MW, a coupled energy of 70 MJ, and combined heating with NB of 32 MW, each in ITER relevant high density, highly radiating, ELMy H-mode plasmas.

Shaft Pump Power - Effect of Pipe Network Configuration

International Journal on Energy Conversion (IRECON), 2020
Building design has often many engineering challenges to achieve the best possible energy and economic efficiencies. It is necessary to use technological tools capable of predicting with a high degree of accuracy the behavior of a pipe network system in order to obtain good designs that avoid problems in the future.
