Flow cytometric phytoplankton concentration and optical properties across instruments and laboratories

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Flow cytometry measures the optical properties of individual cells and has become essential for enumerating and characterizing marine phytoplankton. Yet systematic comparison of measurements across instruments remains limited, hampering data comparison across laboratories and long‐term time series.

Transient Laser‐Induced Periodic Surface Structures Revealed by Time‐Resolved EUV Diffuse Scattering

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The study shows that femtosecond laser pulses generate transient, LIPSS‐like surface patterns at fluences far below the damage threshold. Time‐resolved extreme ultraviolet scattering captures reciprocal space features that form within a few picoseconds and vanish on sub‐nanosecond timescales.

AI‐Driven Synthesis in Medicinal Chemistry: Integrating Large Language Models, Robotic Automation, and Sustainability Metrics to Accelerate Drug Discovery

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming synthetic chemistry from task‐specific predictors into integrated platforms that unify retrosynthesis, reaction optimization, and closed‐loop robotic automation. This review highlights how AI‐assisted planning and robotic execution shorten cycle times, reduce step counts, and improve route ...

Co‐Evolution of Humans, AI, and Robotics in Autonomous Materials Manufacturing

open access: yesNational Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Materials manufacturing has entered into a new era with the rapid development of technologies. The convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technologies is transforming materials manufacturing from a traditional human‐centered practice into a human, AI, and robotics co‐evolution paradigm.

Warming modifies trophic impacts of invading shrimp with impact varying among primary producers

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Environmental change drivers, such as climate change and species invasions, can disrupt biological networks and weaken ecosystem stability. Acting together, these drivers may interact and alter the effects on the ecosystem. However, few studies have examined the interactive effects of climate change and species invasions, particularly in aquatic ...

Polypharmacy among adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy in a clinical setting

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Adolescents and adults with cerebral palsy often experience multimorbidity related to their condition, which primarily affects movement and posture but is also associated with pain, epilepsy, mood disorders, and other conditions. As such, these patients are often prescribed a range of medications to manage symptoms, thereby putting ...

A walk in the park—Identifying healthy greenspaces using scents

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
As urbanisation accelerates globally, access to nature is increasingly recognised as vital for public health and wellbeing. We captured and analysed plant‐emitted airborne ‘scent signatures’ across Oxford's urban greenspaces to assess their potential health relevance.

Using art history to explore society's changing connections with agriculture

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Food insecurity is a looming challenge that especially affects those least fortunate. Consumer food choices have a substantial impact on the sustainability of current food systems. Here, we use art as a lens through which to consider our contemporary and historical relationship to one of the world's most crucial crops, the potato, in the context of the
