Improvement of the Method for Fixing a Punch in the Punch Holder [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The punching process allows large quantities of parts to be produced at very low cost. This paper studies how the technique used for fixing a punch can be improved in order to increase productivity before punch fracture, which results in large numbers of parts failing to be produced, thus creating a significant shortfall.

The damaging punch. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1985
The mechanical properties of a boxing punch have been determined using several techniques. The results are consistent with the medical consequences of boxing discussed in the report of the Board of Science and Education Working Party on boxing. Data were gathered from a world ranked British professional heavyweight, Frank Bruno, as he punched an ...

Science with a punch [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 1997
There are changes afoot in the way that US granting agencies, most notably the NIH, evaluate proposals. Change can be a good thing, and it is probably high time that the NIH reassessed how grants are evaluated. Frankly, I was becoming blase about the entire granting process.

The role of punch eccentricity in small punch testing

open access: yesUbiquity Proceedings, 2018
The small punch testing technique under quasi-static loading was examined in the view of punch eccentricity role. It might arise especially when the ball is used as the penetrating tool, instead of hemispherical-ended punch. The austenitic stainless steel AISI 316L was chosen to execute several various “large scale” tests in order to calibrate the ...

Effect of punch velocity on punch force and burnish height of punched holes in punching procces of pure titanium sheet

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract Punch velocity is one of the important parameters in the punching process. The choice of punch velocity is difficult because it has a different influence on each material. Therefore, it is important to know the effect of punch velocity on the material to be worked.

The tangential punch biopsy [PDF]

open access: yesDermatology Online Journal, 2019
Dermatologists around the world widely utilize skin biopsies, which can be performed using shave, punch, incisional, or excisional techniques [1]. The punch biopsy allows a dermatologist to obtain a full-thickness skin sample. The post-biopsy wound heals by primary closure or second intention [2].

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

NMDAR‐Antibody Encephalitis Diagnosed With Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma: A Case Series

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate receptor‐antibody encephalitis (NMDAR encephalitis) is one of the most common forms of autoimmune encephalitis, with a paraneoplastic relationship described in approximately 38%. Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare hematologic malignancy that is not often considered as the underlying neoplasm in this ...
