Strengthening of RC flat slabs against punching shear with GFRP laminates adopting a hybrid technique

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2023
Punching shear failure at the slab-column connection is one of the foremost concerns associated with reinforced concrete (RC) flat slabs. Many strengthening techniques of existing RC flat slabs against punching shear failure have been developed, one of ...

Effect of column dimension on the punching shear capacity of concrete slabs reinforced with GFRP bars [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Traditional steel reinforcements are highly susceptible to corrosion affecting their durability and leading to structural weaknesses. The use of GFRP bars offers a corrosion-resistant alternative, potentially extending the lifespan and durability of ...

Mechanical Properties of Cycled Single Crystal LiNi0.8Mn0.1Co0.1O2 (NMC811) Particles

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
The mechanical properties of single crystal NMC811 particles are determined as a function of cycling and C‐rate C/10→2 C. Individual SC NMC811 particles lose strength with cycling, remaining strongest for compression normal to the (0001)R‐3m layered structure.

Experimental Study of Punching Shear on Reinforced Concrete Waffle Slabs Strengthened by CFRP Sheets

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences
For the last five decades, researchers have been studying the punching shear of two-way reinforced slabs at column supports in structural testing laboratories. Limited tests are available on retrofitted waffle slab punching behavior. These are necessary

Improving Gr/SiO Negative Electrode Formulations: Effect of Active Material, Binders, and Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
The study examines Gr/SiO negative electrode formulations utilizing prelithiated SiO (Li–SiO) and single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), demonstrating reduced irreversible losses and enhanced electrochemical performance. By reducing binder content and incorporating SWCNTs, high active material content and improved mechanical integrity are achieved ...

Evaluation of the Shear Punching Test - A comparative analysis with fall-cone and direct simple shear test [PDF]

open access: yes
Between the years 2019 and 2023, SGI developed a new method to assess the undrained shear strength in cohesive soils. The new test, named the shear punching test, is developed to possibly replace or compliment existing test methods, particularly the fall-

Revitamize LFP! Ascorbic Acid‐Assisted Direct Regeneration of Spent LiFePO4 for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
This study presents a one‐step, environmentally friendly lithiation process for regenerating spent LFP cathodes under ambient conditions using low‐cost reagents, including ascorbic acid. A simplified scheme of the green lithiation process in aqueous solution is illustrated, showing the recycling loop from cathode recovery to regeneration and the ...
