The punch-shear strength of six cavity liners

Dental Materials, 1987
Abstract The punch-shear strengths of 6 cavity liners, 5 based on calcium hydroxide and one on zinc oxide-eugenol, have been studied as a function of thickness and exposure time to a 100% rH atmosphere for periods of up to 7 days. The punch-shear strength of the ZOE material was found to be lower than that of the Ca(OH) 2 -based materials under ...

Punching Shear Strength of Restrained Slabs

Journal of the Structural Division, 1975
The punching shear strength of restrained concrete slabs is investigated. A rational idealized model of a restrained slab at punching failure is developed. This model is an extension of one previously developed by Kinnunen and Nylander for simply supported slabs.

Wear properties of punch with sheared edge

Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, 2003
Metal forming through punching finds wide interest in industry. The punch life and the end product quality depend on the punch and workpiece properties as well as punching conditions. Recently, TiN coating of the punch surface has reported to improve considerably the tool life and the end product quality.

Punching Shear Strength of Ferrocement Slabs

ACI Structural Journal, 1993
The behavior of ferrocement slabs under punching shear load was investigated. Fifteen square slabs were tested with the effective span-to-depth ratio, steel contents, slab thickness, mortar strength, load-bearing plate size, and spacing of skeletal steel as test parameters.

The Crack Sliding Model – Unified Approach to Shear and Punching Shear

IABSE Congress, Chicago 2008: Creating and Renewing Urban Structures – Tall Buildings, Bridges and Infrastructure, 2008
<p>This paper presents a unified mechanical model – The Crack Sliding Model - which can be used to calculate the shear strength as well as the punching shear strength of reinforced concrete structures. The model is based on the upper bound plasticity theorem. Contrary to the classical plasticity models to shear problems, the present model makes a

Strength of Concrete Slabs in Punching Shear

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1986
A theoretical solution for the punching shear strength of a concrete slab is presented. The problem is treated as a three-dimensional axisymmetrical one, the material being assumed to be rigid-plastic. A failure criterion for the concrete is suggested, in which a second-degree parabola is used for a Coulomb-Mohr yield envelope.

Punching Shear of Reinforced Concrete Plates

1994
This paper presents the results of a numerical simulation of punching shear of RC plates. Two RC plates were analysed by use of the FE-program DIANA and compared with experimental results. The RC plates were modelled by solid elements and an embedded formulation was used for the reinforcement.

Punching Shear Design Method of Voided Slabs

Key Engineering Materials, 2017
This study presents punching shear design method of voided slab in accordance with arrangement of voids around columns. According to previous studies, the slab-column connection of voided slabs is weaker than that of the solid slab due to the lack of cross-sectional area of concrete by voids.

Fire Resistance of Concrete Slabs in Punching Shear

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2014
AbstractTwelve specimens of reinforced concrete slab-column connections were tested to investigate fire resistance of punching shear. Half of the specimens were tested at room temperature to determine punching shear strength. Half were tested for fire resistance.
