Punch shear strength of polycarboxylate cements
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1978Two general conclusions are drawn which apply to all the four commercial polycarboxylate cements: First, the effect of storage condition upon shear strength was much more pronounced after 24 hours than after 1 hour of storage time; second, the effect of storage condition was most extreme when the specimens were tested free of their matrices ...

Structural Concrete
The use of UHPC enables reducing the height of composite slabs, which may decrease the punching shear capacity. This paper investigates the punching shear behavior of steel‐normal concrete‐UHPC composite slabs with experiments and theoretical analyses ...

Punching shear in flat slabs with open stirrups as shear reinforcement
Structural Concrete, 2022The performance of open stirrups shear reinforcement not fully anchored is investigated, with a type of detail that has been used in construction sites as a support for the top flexural reinforcement to guarantee the right height position; and ...

Various slabs in reinforced concrete structures, such as flat floor slabs, spread footings, and pile caps (Fig. 1.4), may fail in the patterns shown in Fig. 9.1, under local compressions, which are perpendicular to the slabs and of high intensity.

Punching shear in concrete slabs
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1999Punching shear in concrete slabs is a serious problem in certain structural systems, such as flat slabs. Current analysis is based either on empirical and simplified analytical techniques or on theoretical models, mainly based on the theory of plasticity.

Meniscal shear stress for punching.
Journal of applied biomaterials & biomechanics : JABB, 2009Experimental determination of the shear stress for punching meniscal tissue.Meniscectomy (surgical treatment of a lesion of one of the menisci) is the most frequently performed arthroscopic procedure. The performance of a meniscectomy is not optimal with the currently available instruments.

Punching shear behaviour of shear reinforced concrete slabs
Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Structures and Buildings, 2015This study investigates the punching shear behaviour of reinforced concrete slabs with various shear reinforcement, including newly developed metallic fibres. Six slab specimens of dimensions 1800 × 1800 × 120 mm are constructed. The test parameters include fibre type, shear reinforcement type and fibre volume fraction.

Punch-Shear Test for Dental Purposes
Journal of Dental Research, 1970Average shear stress may be calculated from the force required to punch a cylinder out of a disk or plate of material. Tests on aluminum and methacrylate sheets enabled the comparison of dental restoratives with human dentin. Human dentin was found to have a greater shear strength than dental restoratives other than gold alloys.

EFFECT OF SPECIMEN THICKNESS AND PUNCH DIAMETER IN SHEAR PUNCH TESTING
Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, 2006AbstractA good method to directly measure the mechanical properties of a material deformed in compression or torsion is by using the shear punch test. Unlike tensile testing, the shear punch test is not limited by specimen size or shape. However, it is unclear whether there is a limit to the allowable specimen thickness and punch diameter in order to ...
