Reduced area approach for predicting punching shear resistance of biaxial hollow slabs with openings
Due to the inclusion of hollow plastic spheres in bubbled slab systems, the shear resistance is greatly reduced. Also, the existence of the opening in the vicinity of columns takes away part of the concrete responsible for resisting shear forces and ...

Numerical investigation of the punching shear resistance capacity of reinforced concrete slab
Abstract The article studies the punching shear capacity of reinforced concrete slabs by simulation method. Based on the Concrete Damage Plasticity (CDP) constitute model, the simulation model is established in the Abaqus software. The simulation model was verified by the comparison of punching shear tests.

Effect of column dimension on the punching shear capacity of concrete slabs reinforced with GFRP bars [PDF]
Traditional steel reinforcements are highly susceptible to corrosion affecting their durability and leading to structural weaknesses. The use of GFRP bars offers a corrosion-resistant alternative, potentially extending the lifespan and durability of ...

Experimental Study on Punching Shear Behavior of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) Slabs
This study assesses the punching shear characteristics of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) slabs in two phases. The initial phase involved experimental tests to determine the critical thickness differentiating punching shear failure and flexural ...

Make‐Use‐Remake: Toward Indefinite Low‐Temperature Material Loops
We introduce a regenerable materials platform built from microparticles bound by a temperature‐responsive polymer shell, enabling strong, processable structures from diverse feedstocks. The material is shaped at low temperatures (80°C) using common manufacturing methods and reprocessed repeatedly in the presence of water, demonstrating stable ...
