PUNISHMENT IN SLOVENE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

open access: yesMetodički Vidici, 2010
The article offers a critical view on punishment, an always hot topic at school. School punishment is observed from a historical point of view, especially since the period when punishment became more humane.

Group Cooperation Under Alternative Peer Punishment Technologies: An Experiment. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper experimentally studies peer punishment under three alternative technologies. We find that the choice of peer punishment technology has a substantial impact on group performance.

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Why Punish: Social Reciprocity and the Enforcement of Prosocial Norms [PDF]

open access: yes
Recently economists have become interested in why people who face social dilemmas in the experimental lab use the seemingly incredible threat of punishment to deter free riding.

Adaptive Twisting Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces torque‐controlled twisting metamaterials as a transformative platform for adaptive crashworthiness. By combining multiscale predictive modeling with experimental validation on additively manufactured gyroids, it demonstrates tunable stiffness, collapse stress, and energy absorption.

Teachers’ Punishment Intensity and Student Observer Trust: A Moderated Mediation Model

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences
During social interactions, people decide whether to trust an actor based on their punitive behaviour. Several empirical studies have indicated that punishment intensity impacts observer trust, yet the underlying mechanism remains to be elucidated.

Colloidal Heterostructures Enable Interfacial Transport of Immiscible Molecules in Printable Organohydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiphase printable organohydrogels with tunable microstructures are developed to control molecular transport pathways for immiscible cargo. The tortuosity and domain size of the colloidal phases are tuned by adjusting temperature and shear during processing, which enables the tailoring of diffusion kinetics due to different transport pathways.

Vertical Self‐Rectifying Memristive Arrays for Page‐Wise Parallel Logic and Arithmetic Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a page‐wise logic‐in‐memory architecture realized in a 3D vertical resistvie random‐access memory array of self‐rectifying memristors. By introducing intra‐ and inter‐page logic primitives, the system enables Boolean and arithmetic operations to be executed directly within the memory.

Physical punishment [PDF]

open access: yes
One of the key responsibilities of parents is to help children learn to manage their emotions and behaviour. This supports children to become personally fulfilled individuals who can participate effectively in society.
