Ultrasound Pupil Image Segmentation Based on Edge Detection and Detection Operators

Proceedings of the 2020 12th International Conference on Machine Learning and Computing, 2020
Ultrasound imaging technology is developing rapidly and ultrasound images can provide a lot of information for doctors to diagnose. However, the same tissues and organs show large differences in edge strength in ultrasound images which may cause difficulty in segmentation and analysis.

A robust and accurate detection of pupil images

2010 3rd International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics, 2010
Precise pupil features detection is an important factor for screening diabetic retinopathy. Some interferences caused by reflections, eyelashes and eyelids in pupil extraction need to be solved. This paper presents an algorithm to precisely estimate pupil features: pupil center and pupil radius.

Automated windowing processing for pupil detection

2001 Conference Proceedings of the 23rd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005
Video-based eye gaze detection systems are useful for eye-slaved support systems for the severely disabled. The pupil center in the video image is a focal point to determine the eye gaze. Recently, to improve the disadvantages of traditional pupil detection methods, a pupil detection technique using two light sources (LEDs) and the image difference ...

Realtime 3D position detection of human pupil

2004 IEEE Symposium on Virtual Environments, Human-Computer Interfaces and Measurement Systems, 2004. (VCIMS)., 2005
A real time 3D pupil position detection system necessary for non-contact and remote eye gaze detection allowing head displacement was developed. So far, methodology had been proposed that estimates 3D positions of eyes from their 2D positions detected from the face images captured by two stereo cameras.

Pupil Center Detection by Abstracted Contour Graph Analysis for Iris Detection

2018 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC), 2018
This paper presents a novel pupil center detection method, which is robust to the presence of eyelashes and eyelids. First, a low-intensity region is extracted, and its contour is expressed using Freeman's chain code. The five successive elements of Freeman's chain code are then replaced by their mode value.

Robust pupil center detection using a curvature algorithm

Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 1999
Determining the pupil center is fundamental for calculating eye orientation in video-based systems. Existing techniques are error prone and not robust because eyelids, eyelashes, corneal reflections or shadows in many instances occlude the pupil.

Efficient iris segmentation and pupil detection for visagisme applications

2020 IEEE 14th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI), 2020
This paper explores the problem of automated iris segmentation and pupil detection. The motivation to develop such a system is that an accurate detection of the eye, iris and pupil provides useful information for many applications from various domains, such as medicine, biometrics, and fashion industry.

Robust pupil detection by image difference with positional compensation

2009 IEEE International Conference on Virtual Environments, Human-Computer Interfaces and Measurements Systems, 2009
Remote and noncontact, video camera-based pupil detection techniques are useful for human interface and human monitoring devices. In general, it is difficult to detect pupils without illumination. However, if using near-infrared illuminations, pupil detection becomes dramatically robust. We formerly proposed a robust pupil detection technique using two
