S3PL : Self-Supervised Segmentation for Robust Pupil Localization

Proceedings of the ACM on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques
The task of pupil localization is an imperative step for any gaze estimation and eye tracking systems. Due to the challenges induced by diverse factors like illumination, reflections and noise, researchers have proposed several classical and learning based approaches addressing this problem.

Accurate Eye Pupil Localization Using Heterogeneous CNN Models

2019 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2019
Eye pupil localization is one of the indispensable technologies in various computer vision applications such as virtual reality and augmented reality. In general, the algorithm consists of finding the approximate eye region and finding the pupil position by extracting the semantic feature from each eye region.

Automatic segmentation of pupil using local histogram and standard deviation

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
This paper presents a novel approach for automatic pupil segmentation. The proposed algorithm uses local histogram and standard deviation based adaptive thresholding method that looks for the region that has the highest probability of having the pupil.

The local effect of morphine, nalorphine, and codeine on the diameter of the pupil of the eye

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1968
We have demonstrated that morphine (but not codeine) when applied locally to the coniunctival sac in a solution containing polysorbate produces a small but definite degree of miosis. This is apparently a local effect, since it is significantly greater in the treated than in the untreated eye. Locally applied nalorphine may also produce miosis by direct

Pupil Localization for Ophthalmic Diagnosis Using Anchor Ellipse Regression

2019 16th International Conference on Machine Vision Applications (MVA), 2019
Recent developments of deep neural networks, such as Mask R-CNN, have shown significant advances in simultaneous object detection and segmentation. We thus apply deep learning to pupil localization for ophthalmic diagnosis and propose a novel anchor ellipse regression approach based on region proposal network and Mask R-CNN for detecting pupils ...

An adaptive localization of pupil degraded by eyelash occlusion and poor contrast

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2018
The inner boundary of iris represents the pupil’s edge. Hence, to work an Iris Recognition System (IRS) and the gaze tracking system expeditiously it is important to locate it as precisely as possible in a significant amout of time. In the presence of non-ideal constraints e.g.
