NSUN2‐Mediated m5C Modification of TGFB1 in Trophoblasts Remodels Macrophage Function to Prevent URSA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSUN2 and m5C decline in URSA villous tissues. Trophoblast Nsun2 ablation disrupts macrophage‐mediated maternal‐fetal tolerance and triggers embryo resorption. Mechanistically, NSUN2‐YBX1 axis stabilizes m5C‐modified TGFB1 mRNA to maintain TGF‐β1 secretion and M2 polarization, and restoring this signaling rescues maternal‐fetal immune tolerance to ...

The Impact of a Multi-Strain Probiotic Supplementation on Puppies Manifesting Diarrhoeic Symptoms During the Initial Seven Days of Life

open access: yesAnimals
Acute diarrhoea is a prevalent condition in puppies, frequently accompanied by a reduction in daily weight gain and an elevated risk of mortality. The utilisation of probiotics has been demonstrated to facilitate the restoration of intestinal microflora ...

Girl with Puppies

open access: yes, 1940
This is a black and white photo of a girl with five puppies. The girl and the puppies are sitting in the center of a tire which is laid on its side. The girl is seated behind the puppies, and she is helping one lean against the tires like the rest of ...

Microglial TSPAN4‐Dependent Migrasomes Promote Pathological Retinal Neovascularization via Immune‐Vascular Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined high‐glucose and hypoxic stress switches microglia into a TSPAN4‐dependent migrasome‐producing state. These migrasomes deliver pro‐angiogenic signals to endothelial cells, activating HIF‐1α/VEGF signaling, disrupting vascular junctions, and fueling pathological neovascularization. This work uncovers migrasome‐mediated immune‐vascular crosstalk

Effect of potato on kibble characteristics and diet digestibility and palatability to adult dogs and puppies

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2019
The objective was to evaluate kibble characteristics, coefficients of total tract apparent digestibility (CTTAD) of nutrients, metabolisable energy (ME), palatability, and faecal characteristics of diets containing potato starch (PS) fed to adult dogs ...

Molecular recognition and phylogenetic tree analysis of Cystoisospora canis in stray dogs in Diwaniyah city, Iraq [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences
Cystoisospora spp. are Apicomplexa parasites, protozoan parasites with a global prevalence of 1-5% in dogs. The current study aimed at finding out about the presence and molecular features of Cystoisospora among homeless dogs in Al-Diwaniyah province in ...

CHD8‐Dependent Chromatin Licensing Sustains Trophoblast Stem Cell Transcriptional Programs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, Huang et al., identify chromatin remodeler CHD8 as an essential factor in TSC maintenance and placental development. CHD8‐dependent chromatin accessibility supports the occupancy of key trophoblast TFs and is coupled to KMT2A‐associated H3K4me3 deposition at TSC stem and cell cycle genes, providing a permissive chromatin environment for ...

Co‐activation of Selective Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Subtypes Is Required for Neuroprotection against Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Beta‐amyloid peptide (Aβ)‐induced suppression of hippocampal GABAergic interneuron activity drives hyperexcitability, amyloid pathology, and cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease (AD), suggesting that enhancing hippocampal inhibition may be protective.

Different shape but the same topographical complexity—The lingual gross anatomy of the Saimaa (Pusa saimensis) and Baltic ringed seals (Pusa hispida botnica)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite the distinctly different shapes of their tongues, the tongue gross anatomy of Saimaa ringed seal closely resembled that of Baltic ringed seal. There were no differences in the extrinsic and intrinsic tongue muscles or their associated vascularization and innervation between Saimaa and Baltic ringed seals.

Postnatal craniomandibular growth in Harbor seals (Phoca vitulina vitulina)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Postnatal ontogeny in Harbor seals (Phoca vitulina vitulina). Cranium and mandible grow rapidly until 5 years of age, followed by a deceleration and finally a stagnation. Abstract As secondarily aquatic carnivores, seals display several phenotypic differences compared to their terrestrial relatives.
